About Consorima
Consorima, S.A. started it´s activity in the chemical field in the same year of it´s foundation in 1978. From the start it clinched exclusive representation and distribution contracts of two international companies named, at the time, Rewo and DAC.
Still today these companies are among the group of main suppliers, although the current names are Evonik and Sasol.
These two companies are today companies of international immense projection and prestige (Sasol is currently European leader in manufacturing fatty alcohols and derivates), wich, naturally, give prestige to the Portuguese agent, particularly for being, along 33 years, sold to other companies and having passed a few merger processes. Despite enormous changes inside these companies, with increases in size and range of products, the representation in Portugal has always been Consorima, S.A., naturally, with mutual benefict.
The nature of these representations conditioned, for a while, the core of Consorima, S.A. activity, being the commercial effort putted specially on clients for surfactants, either specialties (Evonik) or of big consumption (Sasol). Consorima has made a national effort to reach Textile Auxiliaries, domestic and industrial Detergents, Cosmetic and Pharma and Polimerization industries. It was a break that Consorima, S.A. took advantage to become specialist in this area.
As the years went by, the suppliers began to pile and, as a consequence, the kind of products and clients were amplified, breaching beyond the previous mencioned areas. The biggest chance, in 1990, was the introduction of resins and adittives to the Paint Industry and other products of cement, plaster and others with application in Construction. To these products, later, were added glues, modified starch to micro corrugated cartboard and for paper bags. Later on, Consorima, S.A. has incorporated a range of products to water treatment with special reference to flocculant to waste water and specially polifunctionals to industrial waste water treatment in straight collaboration with the associate ALQUIMICA, engeneering company, focused on he building and management of wastewater treatment plants, always backed by the well equipped laboratory.
Always faithful to the roots and it´s technical vocation, since 1987 Consorima, S.A., has added knowledge to a vast range of products intended to the detergents industry, adding concentrated pre-formulated products to various apllications, being high quality a flagship. In the same way emulsions were added with special relevance to siliconic and non-siliconic antifoamers to a vast range of markets from Textile to the wood derivates, with Paints and paper in the middle.
Since then, Consorima, S.A. has evolved to concentrated silicon aminofunctionals micro emulsions to the textile industry. This development was made possible by the change of facilities for Vilar do Paraíso in 1992, these installations, we occupy today and that have already been object of expansion in 2013, to respond to the lack of storage capacity we were feeling. We've increased as well, the storage area for roughly double the capacity until then. CONSORIMA is a dynamic company, always dedicated to respond promptly to customer needs and market requirements, and has been this proactive attitude that has allowed us to grow year by year.

With the national representation of the finest international brands, we have a vast range of products, ensuring a greater scope and response capability to the specific requirements of the client/market. Thus, we invest on the product diversification in a way to guarantee a proper response to the needs of our clients.
Company Culture
A company is, evidentially, a human aggregate that searches, as a primary goal, the fulfillment of assets (profit) in the set of commercial, industrial or services activities that practices in it´s field.
Without assets there is no growth (and always decline) nor economico-finantial stability nor even compensation of the pratical merit of each agent that embodies the company.
A company, however, is never with it´s character well defined if is not embodied by a set of principles to wich we can call “Corporate culture”.
Corporate culture would lack contents if it were not based on ethical principles regarding in a broad sense on what concerns it´s activity:
To it´s clients, in the trade of products and services wich are the core of it´s social activity and to all it´s suppliers of products and services, as well as to all it´s employees.
We take great pleasure to say that CONSORIMA meets a substantial part of it´s economico-finantial, fiscal, legal ando social goals.
As a dynamic entity that is and with the means that are being enshrined to all and to each one of it´s goals, the progressive implementation of each one, in a sense of positive evolution it´s done with great effort in a permanent adequacy in response to the regulation requirements mainly considering a EU regulation every time more restrictive.
Consorima, in it´s array of priorities has as principles of professional conduct:
- Self respect, always respecting it´s ways of conduct.
- The consideration of it´s employees as partners in order to build a long relation, with mutual advantages. They are the core fabric that a company and it´s history is made.
- Respect for suppliers of products and services, taking to the last consequences the compliance of the agreed deadlines, mainly payment deadlines. Demand for the same suppliers the identical behavior in relation to prices, deadlines of delivery, compatible with the market standards and estabilished contracts.
- To estimate and respect it´s clients as the essential engine of economical growth, providing the quality and quantity that one believes results from well coordinated deliveries and righteous prices.
- To have a transparent price policy, considering the speculation an element to disregard and a just beneficiary margin, a correct way of getting rewarded for a timely and proper supply, fulfilling the client expectation.
- Demand as contrast of the clients respect, the same respect for the partner provider, seeing as a client´s duty to liquidate the service provided.
Feeling as a right the duty of considering a negligent partner a client that repeatedly changes unilaterally the rules of the contract, exceeding terms of payment as a rule and not as an exception.
Consorima will strive through it´s technical-comercial collaborators, and always a client needs it and desires, to be a carrier of the technical knowledge of the product that sells, in order to enlight the client of it´s use and properties so it can use it better, beside providing all the technical documentation.
This technical knowledge must be considered as an implicit value of the product, being the act of selling, delivery and complete technical information as a service that has to be rewarded in the sale itself.
